Computer Systems & Information Technology (CSIT)
Program Length: 900 Hours
Program Objective:
This program focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstration of the following elements of the information technology industry; technical and product skills, underlying principles of technology, planning, management, finance, labor issues, community issues and health, safety, and environmental issues.
The content includes but is not limited to communication, leadership skills, human relations and employability skills; and safe, efficient work practices.
This program is a planned sequence of instruction consisting of four occupational completion points. When the recommended sequence is followed, the structure is intended to prepare students to complete the CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ industry certifications. Sufficient coverage of advanced networking concepts and competencies may also lead to Cisco’s CCENT and CCNA industry certifications. A student who completes the applicable competencies at any occupational completion point may either continue with the training or become an occupational completer.
This program is comprised of courses which have been assigned course numbers in the SCNS (Statewide Course Numbering System) in accordance with Section 1007.24 (1), F.S. Career and Technical credit shall be awarded to the student on a transcript in accordance with Section 1001.44(3)(b), F.S.
16 years of age or older and not currently enrolled in any K-12 program
Occupational Interest
The entire program is 900 hours, but a student can earn a certificate upon completion of the following OCPs:

Minimum basic-skills grade levels required for awarding a Full Program Completion Certificate are 10th grade in Math, and 9th grade in Reading, and Language on the TABE® test, or passing an Industry Certification exam. Additional information can be provided by student services. Students are expected to complete program competencies.

Salary
The average wage for a career in Computer Systems Administrators is $40.77 per hour and $84,810 per year, with completion the of CompTIA A+ industry certification. With completion of all three certifications (ComptTIA A+, Network+, and Security+ industry certifications) the average wage for a career in IT Manager or Cyber Security Specialist is $152,00 per year.

$20.00 application fee per trimester
Material fee – $99.00
Identification fee – $5.00 per trimester
Liability insurance fee – $10.50
Students must purchase books/kits and/or uniforms, if applicable
